Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and the rights you have under POPIA.

Who we are
YAQOOT South Africa is the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach our information officer at privacy@yaqoot.co.za.
What we collect
- Order information: name, email, phone, delivery and billing address, order contents and payment status.
- Payment information: handled by our payment providers. We receive a reference and status, never your full card number.
- Support conversations: messages you send through our chat or email, including the language you write in.
- Technical information: IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, used to keep the store secure and working.
Why we use it
To fulfil orders, arrange delivery, answer your questions, meet our legal and tax obligations, prevent fraud, and — only with your consent — send marketing you can unsubscribe from at any time.
Who we share it with
Courier partners, payment providers, our email and hosting providers, and professional advisers where necessary. We do not sell personal information.
Cross-border transfers
Some providers process data outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on their contractual data-protection commitments, as POPIA requires.
How long we keep it
Order and tax records are kept for five years as required by South African law. Support conversations are kept for two years. Marketing consent records are kept until you withdraw them plus one year.
Your rights
You may ask us to confirm what we hold, correct it, delete it where we are not required to keep it, object to direct marketing, or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator. Email privacy@yaqoot.co.za and we will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for the bag, language and currency preferences, and first-party analytics to understand which pages help people. You can clear or block cookies in your browser; the store will still work, but your bag may not persist.
